Email from Dad, Part 3, Random

Hi Sheryl, googling to say hello hope you are well. What's new? All good things,I hope.Just so you know,Horton Hear A Who is on T.V. tonight.Horton must and will save Whoville from disaster. If I wasn't in such demand,I would help him.Are you handling the cold well? I don't like the cold. When the temperature drops below 50,it's to cold for me.Tell the Professor hello from me.Be well, stay well, remember to do things you like for you, exercise, play with your computer[try to advance to my skills],organize, just some examples.    Love, Dad

  1. Horton Hears a Who? Really? Why is he telling me this? This is very random - I'm not even a Dr Seuss fan. But I do love his "Horton must and will save Whoville from disaster", but I think it deserves an explanation point for hilarious emphasis.
  2. When he says he's "in such demand" - too much demand to help a cartoon character from an impending disaster - this is a reference to his actual full time job, his part time government jobs (he works for the board of elections & was even on the census bureau!), and his fictitious jobs (working for Giuliani, Bill Gates, the MTA, and whomever else he imagines needs his many skillz).
  3. I have the same rule about 50 degrees and hate when the weather dips under that. I also have a 'no bike riding under 50' rule. Did I ever mention I'm eerily like my Dad?
  4. He obviously knows all of my favorite things - exercising, computer stuff & organizing. Throw in some cooking & cleaning and that's about everything I love to do. Oh, and beer drinking. Don't forget the beer! (Dad's not a drinker...)
  5. "Try to advance to my skills" - his skills of "googling", "twizzling" and pounding out an email at the lightning speed pace of only 30 minutes! (hey, that's good! He's down from 40!)

Did I mention that not giving my Dad my cell phone # is one of the best things I've ever done? I love these insane email exchanges!!!

Your dad's emails always choke me up. He is so sweet. I love how he constructs these funny openers just so he can get to the good stuff of saying loving things towards you.
